Microalgae and probiotic bacteria as biofloc inducers in a hyper-intensive Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) culture

چکیده
Biofloc systems in Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) culture generate floccules that remove wastes, and hence, biofloc formation is promoted for production. This study evaluated the induction of using microalgae probiotic bacteria hyper-intensive culture. The experiment was performed six weeks tanks (28,000 L each) stocked 350 ind m-3 weight 1400 ± 30 mg. Three treatments were assessed: 1) with two diatoms: Grammatophora sp. Navicula sp., 2) 3) without diatoms. All added Schizochytrium Lactobacillus fermentum TD19. following parameters monitored during culture: ammonium, nitrites, nitrates, environmental variables, volume, microorganism presence, bromatological composition biofloc, growth performance P. vannamei. Our results indicated three induced presented a similar volume (8.34 4.8 mL L-1) ammonium concentration (<1.0 mg L-1). Treatment 1 generated highest ciliates, rotifers, nematodes, lactic acid bacteria, lowest Vibrio spp. (1.2×103 UFC mL-1), evidencing significant difference composition, protein lipid values (28.12 0.50 22.44 0.80% dry weight, respectively) best feed conversion ratio (0.89). Based on these results, we suggest L. fermentum, diatoms should be used to induce vannmaei order provide supplementary nutritional intake, which can constitute an advantage reduce commercial rations.

Histopathology of Spiroplasma penaei Systemic Infection in Experimentally Infected Pacific White Shrimp, Penaeus vannamei
Penaeus vannamei shrimp were challenged with a suspension of a pathogenic isolate of Spiroplasma penaei prepared from a 72-h culture. The route of challenge was by intramuscular injection of the bacterial suspension into the third abdominal segment. Lesion development was evaluated in moribund shrimp collected and fixed in Davidson’s fixative 96 h post challenge. The predominant host responses ...

The uses of breeding programs for the Pacific white shrimp [Penaeus (Litopenaeus) vannamei] based on mixed linear models with pedigreed data are described. The application of these classic breeding methods yielded continuous progress of great value to increase the profitability of the shrimp industry in several countries. Recent advances in such areas as genomics in shrimp will allow for the de...

The effects of single and combined use of two different probiotic bacterial species, Bacillus licheniformis and Lactobacillus rhamnosus on growth performance of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei was evaluated. Shrimp were treated with probiotics in entire crop duration with different test diets. Twelve culture ponds were divided into four groups of each three, Control (CP) without probi...
متن کاملApplication of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens as probiotic for Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) cultivated in a biofloc system
Probiotics can improve growth, survival and resistance to pathogenic organisms of the cultivated species in aquaculture systems with water recirculation. However, their possible benefits on biofloc systems have been less studied. In this study, the benefits of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacterium, on a biofloc culture of Litopenaeus vannamei were evaluated. B. amyloliquefaciens was applied as d...
متن کاملA sex-specific linkage map of the white shrimp Penaeus (Litopenaeus) vannamei based on AFLP markers
We report the construction of sex-specific linkage maps for the white shrimp Penaeus (Litopenaeus) vannamei (Penaeidae; Crustacea). Linkage information was generated using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers in a mapping panel consisting of 42 individuals derived from a commercial cross. We used 103 primer combinations that produced 741 segregating bands. From them, 477 segreg...
